FIRST FAO/WHO GLOBAL FORUM OF FOOD SAFETY REGULATORS
A FORUM DEDICATED TO SHARING EXPERIENCES IN MANAGEMENT OF FOOD SAFETY

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) jointly convened a Global Forum of Food Safety Regulators in Marrakech, Morocco, from 28 to 30 January 2002.

The Forum provided opportunity for food safety regulators from every region of the world to meet together to consider, discuss and share experiences on food safety issues that are of concern to everyone.

As initially planned, the Global Forum did not make any recommendation nor did it arrive to any specific statement on food safety issues.

The outcome of this FAO/WHO Global Forum is provided in the proceedings of the meeting. The key points are highlighted in the Global Forum's summary report which also includes the Chairmen summary of the main results of this first Global Forum of Food Safety Regulators. The summary is reproduced at the end of the Proceedings and is also available on this website.

Participants are invited to inform the secretariat of their assessment of the Global Forum's organization and outcome by filling the attached request form and send it back to the address indicated.
