GF3 E-forum

Practical aspects of the e-forum:

The e-forum will be conducted from 4 April 2005 to 13 May 2005. All GF-2 participants will be automatically subscribed to the e-forum through the email address provided in the GF-2 participant list and are welcome to actively participate in the forum. All other interested parties are also invited to enroll and participate in the forum, according to the instructions below.

Messages may be sent to the e-forum in English, French or Spanish and will be posted in their original language. Unfortunately, it will be too time- and cost-prohibitive for the short duration of the e-forum to translate the messages into the six languages of the Forum. If desired, participants could utilize an on-line translator, such as http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr to gain a general idea of the content of the messages in unfamiliar languages. A summary of all the comments posted during the e-forum will be available in English, French and Spanish after the conclusion of the e-forum.

The e-forum will be moderated by the FAO/WHO secretariat and administered via LISTSERVE.

When sending messages, we suggest the following:

1. Introduce yourself briefly in your first posting to the discussion group.
2. Please reference which of the five areas for discussion indicated above that your comments are addressing.
3. Contribute as many times as you want.
4. To decrease access and down-loading time, please do not include attachments in your replies, except if absolutely necessary.
5. Make the subject header as descriptive as possible about the message content. This is useful for reference at a later date.
6. Very long messages should be avoided.
