FAO, in association with the organizations responsible for international standard setting in sanitary and phytosanitary matters and WTO, has developed a portal to provide a single access point for authorized official international and national information across the sectors of food safety, animal and plant health. Version 1.0 of the Portal was formally launched on 25 May 2004, on the occasion of the FAO/WHO Regional Conference on Food Safety for Asia and the Pacific. FAO staff will present the Portal and will answer questions from the audience in an informational session at 12:30 hours on Tuesday, 12 October 2004 in the ESCAP Hall, Bangkok, Thailand.
